Chenille 38 (2.75 inch brim)
I saw a friend with an older chenille hat of mine at Happy Hour last month and it looked so nice on her, I decided to get out the chenille braid that I have left and make some lovely cold weather hats after a hiatus of year or two. They are not as warm as thick wool, but they are warm and windproof. I use a soft elastic for the band inside. And I make most of them fairly deep in the crown to come down over tops of those ears so they can keep from turning red. They are cozy and toasty for crisp cool days.
The chenille braid hats are cotton and acrylic blend, the solid black is a rayon fiber braid. The brim is flexible and can be turned up or down. They can withstand a lot of bad weather without any wear and fading for years upon years. It are not going to repel water, but just set it dry when you get to where you are going.
My number system was just easiest way to get them on the website, planning to add some of the straw after the new year.
